Craftsmanship

Nearly 40 Years of Expert Craftsmanship

At L’Amour Shoes, our commitment to quality comes from nearly 40 years of crafting shoes with skill, care, and attention to every detail. Each pair is thoughtfully made to combine durability, comfort, and beauty — shoes that children love to wear and parents can trust.

Exquisite Care in Every Step

From carefully selecting high-quality materials to hand-finishing each detail, our shoes are made to support growing feet while celebrating life’s special moments. This is why generations of families trust L’Amour Shoes for both everyday adventures and milestone occasions.

Here’s a closer look at the construction of every pair of L’Amour Shoes:

Materials

Each piece of leather is individually inspected for consistency and defects before start.

Cutting

Based on the flat patterns from the design, individual components of the shoe upper are cut out.

Each piece of leather is tagged to ensure that all pieces going into one shoe match one other in color tone, grain pattern, etc. as these can all vary.

The stitching and perforation guides are hand drawn.

Lasting

Once the individual components are stitched together to form the shoe upper (along with the lining), the upper is then molded onto a last where the midsole is attached.

Stitch Down

In the case of our stitch down shoes, such as the Joy mary jane, the midsole is carefully stitched to the upper.

Outsole

The outsole is then glued and secured to the upper.

For stitch down shoes, an extra step is required to shave down and smooth out the rubber on the sides. This step requires skill, so only those with years of experience are entrusted with this step.

Finishing Touch
